Well thanks for doing the footwork. by the way I purchased the power supply on Saturday. Went with the Seasonic.

I also picked up a hard drive while I was at it they have a really good deal on 500gb hard drives right now if anybody is looking for them.

actually not such an awesome deal in terms of $/gb

you paid about .30 $/GB

the best deal right now is the 400GB drive for $110 or .27 $/GB
then the 250GB for $70 or .28 $/GB
then the 320GB for $95 or .29 $/GB

and if you are doing a RAID5 array, the 250GB is the way to go. lets say 2TB raw disk you purchase, so 5x400GB or 8x250GB.
your usable size is 1.6TB with 400GB disks so .34 $/GB
and usable size is 1.75TB with 250GB disks so .32 $/GB

:-p disk sizing is fun, and I am only going this in depth because my next upgrade is to my file server. hoping for something like 500-700 GB usable size in a raid 5 array

yeah I saw that 400gb disk there when I added the link. I didn't see it though when I ordered mine. That's alright. I still think that was a decent deal.

My PC is like a hurricane but is REALLY nice and multipurpose.
Gaming/TV recordings... everything really.
I wish i took into consideration sound when choosing mine.. and i wish i didnt get a billion LED lights thru everything in the case.
As far as noise on the PSU it isnt very loud.. i find the fans near a grill is what makes the most noise from the air "whistling" over the vents. Something with a fairly open vent system would work good..or ones with flap vents instead of a mesh. The type stangdaman linked the mesh type im talking about and is similar to what i use.
Also go for as much harddrive as you can you wont regret it!
Not having to delete recordings is great.

Speaking of storage space I was on newegg today and spotted this deal. I wish that I had seen this a week ago. How much heat should I expect to get from a hard drive by the way? Would it just be too much to put another 500 in there and the free 250?
