Having trouble playing back recorded programs and am now totally confused!

I originally was using cyberlink video and audio decoders and set to "Overlay Manager" This would play fine for a few minutes and then start stuttering every few seconds making it impossible to watch.

I then tried to play the same files with Windows Media Player 11 and Nero Showtime, both played perfectly.! Sad

Now I have tried with Nero Video And Audio decoders and overlay manager selected, still same! OK so now I select VRM9 instead of overlay manager - Perfect Wink BUT No video Controls - Aggh

What a i doing wrong? Does the overlay manager provide the on screen controls? Can the on screen contols be causing the stutter even when they are not visabe? If so can the playback be controlled via MCE remote using VRM9 (have yet to purchase remote)

Any help / advise greatly appreciated

Should have guessed! As mentioned above I have Windows Media player 11 installed and checking my system performance during stuttering CPU usage shot up to 99% - The culprit was wmpnetwk.exe , this was eating my CPU alive!

However you can't manualy stop this process as it will start again after 20 seconds! You need to disable media sharing in Media Player 11 and hey presto everythings cool again.

Microsoft, ahh don't ya just love em!

Using cyberlink you have to make some registry entries to enable osd in vmr9
