Hello, I have the TechniSat DVB-TV Star PCI card. I have managed to set it up in gbpvr as far as setting it as a capture device, scanning it for available HD channels, and assigning the channels it finds to the EPG of my "standard" tuner card.

I used the MS-DVB mux option as I'm told this is just part of xp sp1 (i have sp2)...anyways..when I go to view the hd channel I get either a black screen with no sound or once I got a static image with sound. I have over 50% signal strength and I know the card works because the DVB-Viewer application it came with works fine.

Does anyone know what the "best" driver is for this card? I got it off e-bay and the driver it came with was not BDA..I was later sent a "beta" BDA driver but wanted to know if someone could help me out with finding the best driver for this card as well as pointers on what settings to use with gbpvr. My standard capture card is the ati theater 550.

thanks!

this is a brand new install of winxp sp2..i've got media player 11 but I haven't intentionally installed any other mpeg2 decoders. Is there a particular one that I should install? My pc is adequate for HDTV..p4 3ghz, 1gb ram, 200gb seperate hd for recordings.

I guess I was trying to see what other people with this card installed/are using as their mpeg decoder as well as their other settings..etc.

Choice of MPEG2 decoder seems to be contiually debated. Common commercial ones are the Cyberlink or nvidia ones, free ones include gplmpgdec, MPV Decoder, dscaler.
