Even with the setting to interact with the desktop, you'd normally not see these Windows. There is a bug which can cause them to show up sometimes after a reboot, but this is not the intended behaviour.

Have you disabled the Hauppauge mvp services? there are 2 of them. In the services.msc utility, set them to manual or disable. This is assuming you installed the Hauppage software. Heres a suggestion, if you did not install Hauppauge software,

1.disable GBPVR recording service,
2. install hauppauge software
3. Test MVP functionality
4. Assuming it works then disable 2 Hauppauge services, reenable GBPVR recording service and we can move on to other possible issues with the gbpvr installation.

Perhaps this will help narrow down the problem...

I'm guessing you either have a firewall or antivirus app getting in the way, or a dont have a DHCP server, or something else is using the port (like Hauppauge software).

I went back and reread your first couple of posts. Did you change the skin setting on the MVP tab in config? You might want to try a different skin setting since this happened after you installed a wide screen skin. That skin you installed is still kind of developmental I think. Sorry if I was off on the wrong track..

@ MJW And that's what MVPServerChecker does. It hides this bug. But we digress...

the mvp connects, i can use the included haupauge software, the fire wall is turned off and i've used gb-pvr many times before on the mvp with no problems, i've even switched the wide screen one to a different skin. So what is the problem. I think it is the program that pushes gb-pvr to the mvp.

Set you auto start servers to '1', then leave it a little bit, then zip and attach the MVP-GBPVR.exe.log file and I'll take a look.
