I think my problem is a windowsXP problem but when I try to playback a recording, gbpvrr will crash and the computer will restart itself. It can happen any time between 1-3 minutes after starting the recording. From information gathered from another post on crashing, I checked the windows event viewer which says this:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( GB-PVR Recording Service ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service started successfully..
(I don't have a remote computer - I have a TV hooked up to the computer that is crashing as a second monitor. I couldn't figure out how to use the Microsoft help or how to use /auxsource=flag)

My system was very stable up to 2 days ago and now it isn't; I have checked for viruses, etc. and have someone helping me to figure out what is wrong - its like all the programs are degrading a bit - I had to reinstall my firewall, my virus checker, etc. When gbpvr first started crashing regularly, I tried to download and repair my installation and I thought that worked.

I was using vmr7 but now I am going to try overlay as suggested in the other post. Because of the likelihood of a crash, I am posting now rather than rewrite this after the expected crash. I have attached my logs from today but, as with my other problems, winzip gave me a message that it had problems creating this file.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I have 4 possible video decoders: system default, cyberlink video/sp, nero and intervideo noncss. I was using system default vmr7 for the last 6 months as it had the clearest picture. When I switched to overlay, I got no picture at all with system default or cyberlink (but no crashing), but I do get a picture with no crashing with the other two.

Given that I was using system default and vmr7 successfully before, does anyone have any idea what may have changed?

Thanks

ERROR Failed to find Crossbar filter

It looks like maybe your drivers are not functioning properly?
Do you have a PVR 150?
Maybe try re-installing the drivers.

Carlito is correct, a component of the drivers did not appear to be present at the time the last recording was due to start.

I downloaded new drivers (I took the Beta driver because it was easier to download) and I still have the same problem with vmr7. Overlay is working.

The fact that pieces of the driver are missing is consistant with my bigger problem. Something seems to be taking bits and pieces out of my programs randomly even though my virus checker has not found any viruses, etc. Hopefully, my brother-in-law will figure out that part of the problem. For now, I have a working GBpvr.

Thank you
