Hello all. I've been meaning to build a PVR for ages and have been sitting on the bits for just as long. I have an Asus Pundit-R which being a small form factor PC doesn't have much room inside for the larger cards. (I did once try a PVR-250, but it was a very very tight squeeze and would rather not have to mess around and 'squeeze' anything into my PVR). I'd also like to run two cards as I want to watch a different channel to the one I'm recording. It's for UK digital TV and DAB radio would be good too.

But which card/s should I go for and why? (I don't fancy USB tuners).

I do have a BlackGold card, but this isn't listed as a supported card type. I was wondering if anyone has managed to get this card to work with GBPVR and if so how and could I run it with two?

I'm presuming that the PVR-150 and 350 have the same footprint as the 250 but can anyone confirm this?

Oh and what happens with pay per view channels other than the standard Freeview?

I'm hoping that this experienced community will be able to point me in the right direct and save me ages of head scratching. So to anyone that can help, thanks in advance!!

I have a PVR-250 in my Pundit. It is a tight squeeze, i think i had to file a small tag off the internal metal casing and put it in the PCI slot nearest the motherboard to get it to fit. Your other option to is to get a low profile card which comes with both standard and low profile brackets. You can get low profile PVR-150 MCE's, but i think the 150's might be being phased out.

I think that the 150 and 250 are the same size, but as far as I know they aren't phasing them out any time soon. The only reason that it might appear that way is because of the push to go to digital(or ATSC where I am). The hauppauge site doesn't show any lack of 150's, nor does newegg.

Cheers guys,

I had a good look at the Hauppage site and in the end ordered Nova-T 500. It just arrived and fits like a glove. Hopefully should be a good card.
