Xcard or Mediamvp?

I'm already the happy owner of a pvr350, and everything that should work, also works perfectly with gbpvr.
But now i would like to upgrade my system, so that i can play divx movies too, with a nice quality. And i heard that every tvout on a videocard is not very good (i tried it with a nvidia 4200 and nvidea 5600, and im not happy with the quality.) So the only thing i need is a good tvout. So which one is the best? The xcard or the mediamvp (it needs to be compatible too with gbpvr of course).

It should work with subtitles, otherwise it's not very usable. And dvd and divx.

Or are there better products on the market that are a better solution? (and not too expensive)

The mediamvp does not play divx files itself but with the latest beta software from hauppauge the server transcodes the file before sending it to the mediamvp. Unfortunally gbpvr does not do this.

The 350, XCard* and MediaMVP will not support native DVD and divx. Only a PC graphics card with TV out can do this for you.

Yes it can, but you will have to diable the GBPVR MVP servers to run the Hauppauge software so you will loose allot of functionality that GBPVR can provide.

The Sub has an XCard as with other so maybe they can answer this question.

The 350 and the MediaMVP can only if the video and audio are transcoded to Mpeg1 or 2 formats before playing. They have hardware support for MPEG-1/MPEG-2 fromats.

Yes, the XCard can play both DivX and DVDs.

No, the MVP cannot play DivX. The hardware is only capable of playing MPEG1/MPEG2. The original Hauppauge software does have some serverside functionality for transcoding from DivX to MPEG2 before sending it to the MVP, but this approach is a bit crap really - so effectively no DivX via the MVP.

Ok, thanks for all the information. I just ordered a xcard, hope it will work ok . (if so, i probably need to buy an extra hd too )
