Hi all. I'm setting this up on xp so I can watch and record tv while i do some work.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up the "capture sources" tab for this card. The card has two tuners, one is analog and the other QAM/ASTC and they both can be used simultaneously. So what I've done under capture sources tab is clicked add.. under recording source, I think i need to use direct recording plugin and clicking settings, i found AverMedia M780 (Analog).

So my question is, what about the digital tuner.. how can I add that? I read that GBPVR has support now for QAM for this card. What is BDA recording plugin vs direct?

Also what is the quality profile setting for? recording? Clicking edit shows that it can only record up to NTSC 720x480? What about HD programs in 1080i if I can figure out how to set the QAM tuner up.

Also in the config menu, under playback tab.. why would you set a delay for live tv?

Thanks!

The BDA Recording plugin is used for digital devices, like the digital tuner of this device. The Direct Recording plugin is used for analog card, like the analog tuner of this device. You'll need one capture source for each.

The quality settings only effect the analog recordings, which are just regular NTSC. Digital recordings will record using whatever bitrate/resolution the broadcaster is using for that channel.

You typically wouldnt set anything there. Its not used if you're using live preview mode live tv.

thanks for the help!

okay I was also wondering how to add QAM channels? The avermedia software has an autoscan feature to pick up QAM channels and it found a bunch, how do I add those to gbpvr?

I think i need to do dvb epg broadcast?

Setup your capture source using the BDA Recording Plugin, and whatever EPG will give you the appropriate set of channels, then hit the 'map digital channels to EPG channels' to force it to do a channel scan.

No, this is not correct. ATSC is the digital systems used in north amercia. DVB is the digital system used in the rest of the world.

thanks sub, you've been very helpful.. another question:

in windowed mode, is there a way to remove the title bar?
Also is there a way to change default keymaps and mouse keys? One thing i hate is the right mouse key exits live tv. Can i edit that somewhere?

Set <BackOnRightMouseButton>false</BackOnRightMouseButton> in config.xml
