The ATI Rage 120 Pro had a problem with 16-bit High Color. Memory, core engine and the DAC is very slow. But still you got it to work.

Are you in the USA, if you are you could use RS 2.4GHz wireless Audio, Video, RF to your WinTV PvR-150 back to your SAT Box. Instead of using so much Audio cable 80ft wow!
When I upgraded my system to 1.7ghz P4 I was able to upgrade the color depth to 32bits which does look better. I know the Rage 128 is pretty long of tooth but I'm delighted that it works now.

I didn't think of the wireless connection, thats a good idea. I have a ton of wires running thru my house anyway - cat5, audio, video, IR blaster- whats another one...

re: "soft" video - now that the blockiness is gone I see the same effect. If I jump back and forth from satellite picture to Rage128 composite TVout picture its definitely "softer". I some respects better tho - the flicker filter on the card works really well.

The GBPVR box works great, just gotta fix the distorted audio problem. Thats a subject for another thread.

I was getting audio clipping when I used the PVR150 tuner. From what I see on other discussion boards this is a very common complaint with the PVR150. I tried all the registry tweeks I could find and it didn't help. Apparently the reg tweeks do work on the PVR250. Hopefully this is something Hauppauge will fix in their drivers and not an inherent problem with the HW.

Interestingly, the tuner audio clipping problem is much less apparent GBVPR than in WinTV2000.

A workaround which helped is to set up the FFDshow audio volume filter and click "normalize". It still clips but its less objectionable.

My fix was to wire audio and video into the composite and audio jacks of the PVR150. The audio output level of my satellite box is low enough to keep the PVR150 from clipping, plus now I have stereo audio and better quality video.
