Better quality VHS from coax or composite

My VCR has both coax and composite outputs. Which one will give me the best quality?

Composite would usually give a better picture that coax. Svideo would give a better picture than composite.

Yes, the coax output is basically a composite signal superimposed on a broadcast frequency. By keeping it in its more basic form you have less loss of signal quality that is caused by each step of the process of adding the broadcast signal and then removing it.
