Whurlston....what would you suggest i do since i have both. I actually, on my antenna, there is a switch already to go between antenna and analog. I have my analog running thorugh my HD antenna and just switch between the two but....lazily, i dont want to get up and switch all the time. Short of buying another tuner, is there any solution?

I don't think there is any solution short of buying another tuner. The HVR-2250 only has a single input, so it's Antenna or Cable, but not both at once. Some other Hauppauge devices have two inputs, one for Digital and one for Analog.

That all said though, MOST cable companies give at least the local broadcast channels in ClearQAM digital form (ie, pretty much everything you could get from an antenna). Have you tried doing a QAM scan with your 2250 hooked up to your cable? You may not even need the antenna at all.

On another note...ive tried for 3 hours now to get my OTA channels to play after recording. No Go. They are played just fine in Live TV, but the recordings are just blue screens with muffled sound. i tried all the mux filters but i dont kno wwhat to do. Could it be something to do with one of the digital tuners not being set up right? I cant even watch a channel im recording. Thanks for the help/

The 'blue screens' comment makes me think its not using your OTA capture source, but instead using your analog capture source. Double check that the channel you're trying is only enabled on the digital OTA capture source, not the analog capture source.

You were right...i had them enabaled. Works fine now, except for football tonight, its a little choppy in the fast movements but definately better then nothing and will find some codec to work. Thanks.

Yes, even basic cable subscribers get free HD digital local channels from their cable company (In the U.S.) This is required by the FCC. Just do a QAM scan on your cable - you should find at least a half dozen channels.
