Hi sub!

Because the changing of my userprofile for GB-PVR i think that i have found a few bugs in relation with the Playback of DVD-ISOs and the Daemon Tools.

Let's start with the little nasty things:
If i select an ISO for playback, then GB-PVR let's DT mount the image automatically (great!) and playback the video. So far, so good. And here starts two little problems:
• It's not possible for me to stop the playback via ESC on the keyboard; stop button on the remote control however works*.
• If the playback is finished, then happens... nothing. GB-PVR stays at a black screen. I have to press ESC (at this stage the button is working) or stop on the remote control. A good thing were, if GB-PVR would automatically go back to the previous (not topmost!!!) menu, for selecting another videos and unload(!) automatically the iso from daemontools.

*Here's something funny at the process of stopping the video. It doesn't goes back to the previous menu... it go back 2 menus!

Medien
.....Videothek
..........Spielfilme
...............supermegashow2009.iso
...............supergbpvr2010.iso

If i watched supergbpvr2010.iso and stop the playback, then GB-PVR is NOT @ "Spielfilme" as it should. It displays the menu "Videothek". I hope i could describe the problem with this behaviour... ^^;

Last but not least a bug, not a nasty problem: If i watch 2 or 3 movies via .iso, then GB-PVR isn't able anymore to playback further isos. I have to force the ending of GB-PVR within the taskmanager and restart GB-PVR to playback more movies, which is working then fine again... for 2-3 movies.

I would be very glad if you could fix these problems in the future, because GB-PVR is one of the most important software here. ^^ And i am ongoing to backup all my DVDs on this way (.iso) on harddisks (best quality, i think).

I havnt tested ISO playback since about 2005, but I'll add it to my list to check for the next release.

This is very nice and would make me very happy. Big Grin The playback of ISO files is more and more important for me, because tons of GB on harddisks aren't expensive anymore... Big Grin

As additional info, i am using the following software combination for iso playback:
• Windows Vista HP 32-Bit (german)
• GB-PVR 1.4.7 (default skin, your beautiful slimskin don't like my menufolders)
• PowerDVD 7 (latest Patchbuild)

Thanks to you. Smile

I have changed config.xml so it runs daemon.bat, not daemon.exe. My daemon.bat mounts and unmounts the iso, then decides if it is a BluRay or just a DVD. If it's a Bluray, it does a taskkill on the PVRX2 process, runs PowerDVD, then runs PVRX2 at the end. If it's a DVD, it returns control to PVRX2 to play it, but it could play it via PowerDVD. You could do a similar thing if you want to avoid this bug.

Here's a link with more info.

I have problem with DVD too - when Resume screen popup, playback sometime hangs (maybe GB-PVR just lost focus, not sure).

BTW - is there a way how to disable DVD resume but keep resume on rest of videos?

This looks interesting, thank you for sharing. To play with a batchfile... mhm, this could help out one or two little things.

You should try this:

• Close GB-PVR
• Make a backup of "config.xml" in the root of GB-PVR
• Open "config.xml" with notepad (i prefer notepad++)
• Search for "<DVDAutoResume>true</DVDAutoResume>"
• Change it to "<DVDAutoResume>false</DVDAutoResume>"
• Save the changes to config.xml
• Start GB-PVR

I think, this should help you out.

I had some problems with playing .iso files too. My solution was to skip them altogether and just use folderstructure: Movie title/ Video_ts...

And a tip. I know that GB-pvr needs daemon tools for image playback. But Sub, you should try and replace it with Slysofts Virtual CloneDrive http://www.slysoft.com/sv/virtual-clonedrive.html. It is free, faster and easier than the way daemon tools work today (and without adware).

I believe you can run other software for the iso by changing the line in config.xml that runs daemon.exe. I run daemon.bat, and it runs PowerDVD when I play BluRays. I still use daemon, but I don't see any reason you couldn't run other virtual drive software.
