I have now built a PC similar to my own
XP fully unpdated, all codec in place and Ch 1-2-3 work fine
This is installed in the CBD with commercial high spec antenna
The PC also records Prime & Maori channels well
BUT again on play back it too skips forward etc.
Again I can backspace and the jumped section plays

Given that this PC is most likely getting a clean signal
Is there something else I can be looking at to fix this problem on both.

There is a known issue with playback of recordings using the ts-mux. A fix is expected in the next release.

I would expect that, even with good overall reception, there might be intermittant tiny glitches in the stream that result in jumps on playback.

My own experience has been that DVR-MS recordings do not have any jumps stutters or other glitches.

Ok sounds like DVR-MS is a possible answer for me then
Does this mean I simply change the dropdown menu on misc 2 tab
DBA multiplexer to
Microsoft DVR-MS
Or
is there further requirements?

You can only use the DVR-MS mux on MPEG2 channels. Our DVB-T system in New Zealand uses H.264, so the TS Mux is always used.

Any lock ups or skips are not caused by the TS Mux though, they're typically caused by signal dropout problems, and the app is not currently very graceful on playback of .ts files that have these problems. ie, if you've dropouts then regardless of the mux you use your recordings are going to be far from perfect.

For what it's worth, I've had the same issues. TV1/2/3 are all fine, but shows recorded on Prime will often skip during playback in GBPVR. Usually, playing the file back in VLC works fine. When it reaches the problem parts of the recording, it shows some nasty scrambled frames then playback continues.

Migrating off WinXP to a clean install of Windows 7 seems to have fixed this; I've watched several shows on Prime (recorded prior to the OS upgrade) and they're fine.
