I am running on Win7 x64 and am desperate to rid myself of MCE. I followed whurlston's tutorial to setup an ATSC/QAM tuner but the card is not being recognized. I can see it listed with all the other cards in the drop-down box, but when I select 'Only show devices detected in this machine' I get the error 'No know cards detected in this machine'.

Everything worked fine in MCE so I know that it's recognizable and functioning, I just can't get gbpvr to play along.

Run filtercheck.exe from the gbpvr directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log that gets created.

Check you have this defined in your bda.ini file:

[AverMedia Duet A188 (type2)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=AVerMedia 716x BDA ATSC DC Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=AVerMedia 716x BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

You need to make sure you select this "AverMedia Duet A188 (type2)" card option.

That worked! There was no (type2) option so I simply cut/paste.

Quick side question since the tutorial was a bit ambiguous. Do I set the device number to 2 since it's a dual-tuner card or do I leave it as 1 since it's only one physical card?

Thanks again.

Setup two capture sources. One as device #1, the other as device #2.
