Martin, Thanks

Set NPVR to one server - when doing so saw that the OSD graphics box was not checked so checked this (both boxes are now checked). Cold started everything. Everything worked perfectly. Logs attached though you probably shouldn't bother with them. Then tried two servers, after cold start, same result - perfect - logs also attached. With three servers though things go pear shaped even after cold start, system locks up and none of the PCH's work. Logs also attached. If I go back to two and cold start everything, perfect again; except the third NMT doesn't work even when the first two are switched off

Got a feeling its a combination of starting three servers and the check boxes. Does this make sense??

Am I right in thinking that if I set NPVR to two servers, then I am stuck with the first two NMTs that start up until I cold start evrything??

What exactly do the OSD graphics box and the high quality render boxes do??

The OSD Graphics box is a remnant from beta testing when it didn't work, sub should really remove it.

I set mine up to start 3 servers and it played through each of them fine stopping and starting one NMT 4 times.

Code:
2010-10-19 18:52:06.972    [DEBUG][3]    Starting MVP server 0
2010-10-19 18:52:07.740    [DEBUG][3]    Starting MVP server 1

Before I say yes, I'd like you to set the autostart back to 1 and try each NMT and send logs I think one might be configured wrong causing problems. You will have to compress them on intermediate steps again because they will get overwritten. I'd like to see the NRecord log too.

If I don't see anything in the logs I'll set up 3 NMT's this weekend.

Not quite. It establishes how many simultaneous NMT connections you have. If you exit to the NMT menu or power off it frees up a server.

I don't understand what the high quality render does myself but I have it ticked.

Martin,

thanks for your trouble

Logs attached. I have three NMTs called 51,52 and 53. there is a suite of logs for each. As you thought it might be a configuration problem, I added to each the output of your syntax checker, as a text file

I think the problem is the 53 NMT. It is giving a 'The request cannot be processed' error today, although it was working yesterday. its logs are in x53logs.zip.

I am learning a lot about the NMT. If mvpmcx2 is loaded already and the thing is switched on but the server is not, it seems to send a wake-up-on-lan message to the server. Is this correct?

Steve a few points.

52. Change MVPHeight to 512 it seems short for PAL

53. Shows as media:mvpmc see this post http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post390134

51+53 Isn't 50 Mhz better in PAL? Also if you can't do 1080p you might try 1080i if you want a nicer OSD.

Thanks Martin, all OK now

Set 51 & 53 PCHs to 1080i.Also tried changing the sizes in config.xml too to 1920 x 1080 but that was obviously wrong. just got top right corner of screen! 50 or 60 hz didn't seem to make much difference, but have left one on 60 and one on 50 and will see if anything shows up

Also changed over both 51 and 53 PCHs to component output rather than HDMI, as they seem more stable that way. Something to do with how they start up I suspect. Also quite often 53 was going by itself to 480i after I started mvpmc, which crashed everything, and meant I had to reset the PCH video output manually

Correct running 1080i/p you should still run 1280x720 for the menu system. Videos will be displayed at 1920x1080 The 50/60 difference will be noticeable in playback of 25 fps PAL material.

It is more a usage issue, if you like to just leave NPVR running and toggle video source HDMI can be more challenging, component just works.

That could be that the HDMI mode wasn't available, you'd likely would see similar probables with DVD ISO playback.
