Btw, did you implement the demux code from specs or did you find some code to build upon?

From spec, but a very limited sub-set of the spec. to the samples types I had. I didn't implement extensions and only support LC and SBR

I get a black screen when I try with the new dongle. It just doesn't load, butr hangs the PCH. PCH has the latest firmware.

I have replaced the september 2010 mvpmcx2 file by renaming the new one to mvpmcx2 on the file share on my PVR-server. Going back to the september version, NPVR loads again.

Thoughts?

I'm sure this is an installation error. You should use NMTInstall to install it, but if not remember that Microsoft permissions don't work automatically and so when you extract the file with 7zip you need to copy it into the mvpmc share to get guest permissions.

It did look fine, but I ended up editing npvr.cgi to refer to dongle.npvr.bin that was copied into the share; and it's running now. :-) Probably I made a typo or similar stupid mistake (even if i did think I doublechecked).

Now on to testing (after Handball World Champs - main TV is occuppied by that right now).

Got to hand it to you. You're a real programmer!
Myself I mostly develop from what others have created and build on top of it. The Open Source world is a fantastic playground for such deeds. And the Java community is fantastic. The closest I have come to develop according to low level specs lately is for injecting Creative Commons licenses and XMP metadata in JPEG and TIFF images.

I can gladly confirm that the new version is working ok in Israel.

Have been running it for a few hours now with no apparent errors.

I forgot to mention the mvpmcx2 update for NPVR v2.0 includes improved error handling for HE-AAC audio that contain transport stream errors. I received some pretty "bad" samples via the NMT forums that helped identify this. In extreme error conditions you might need to use the short seek to sync a/v after a ts error, especially if the video speeds up.

If any of you experience HE-AAC audio problems let me know, and provide a sample video.
