No AAC codec warning

I updated to 4.0.4.170731 and now I'm getting a no aac warning window popping up.

I have LAV filters installed, and am actually getting audio, although its not using LAV for some reason even though I have it selected.

Not sure what codec is actually being used, but doesn't appear to be LAV and maybe that's why NPVR is throwing the warning? No idea why LAV isnt working though. Am running the latest build (0.70.2) The source is a Colossus so I think the audio stream would be he-aac, rather than aac.

Any chance you could supply a small sample recording? I might need to check what flavour of AAC they're using there in Oz.

(I'm off to Hope Island for a week soon for a bit of sun, and escape from the NZ winter!)

Should the AAC flavour just be whatever the Colossus is generating? ie I feed from my foxtel cable box into the Colossus, it's not an over the air DVB-T AAC.

I think I was using Hauppauge Capture to tweak some setting, not sure if NPVR requests the type of audio compression or if its just uses the last driver setting?


(PS the weather is very nice here at the moment, perfect for a winter escape)

Thanks Sub! That definitely fixed the problem with Colossus on live tv and recording. I now get LAV audio to kick in and no popups.

However have discovered that all other videos with AAC I've tested that aren't via the Colossus, eg anything I converted with handbrake still defaults to the Microsoft audio decoder for some reason.

I've attached a media info report on an example so you can see the type of aac it has, if that helps.

MKV fiiles are played using Windows defaults ignoring NextPVR's setting and TS Readers(s)
