reven Wrote:irremote.ini is found in the windows dir eg C:\windows\irremote.ini but i have no idea if this works for the mvp, it works with the remotes for the 150/250/350.

you can have "go" and "full", you just need to remap the full button to something, ie {f7}.

Thanks I'll have a look, will you let me know when available.

Many thanks

Reven, any idea when you might make this change?

Thanks

This is not entirely related to the subject of the thread but this thread seemed the best bet.

First, I'd like to say that the My Music and My Videos plugin are great, thanks for the work on them Reven.

I've also had problems working out what keys to use to get songs to play and to be added to the queue. The biggest problem I've had it seems is that I'm meant to use the Red button to add items to the queue but the Red button does nothing if you (like me) use direct access to the hauppauge remote. I presume that this is why it is not used in many plugins.

The problem is I think due to the fact that The colour buttons are mapped to ctrl-B, ctrl-G, ctrl-Y and ctrl-R but also fast forward is mapped to ctrl-F and rewind to ctrl-R.

The effect of the above is that I can add a song to the queue by using the REWIND button (this has been mentioned in a previous entry in the thread). This is a most unnatural key to use for this.

Would it be possible to change the keys used to play and queue up files so the red button is not used (or at least that there is an alternative).

I would suggest that the play button could be used at both file level and folder level to play the current file or all files in the folder (removing all things currently in the queue.)

and that the 'unnamed button' could be used to add the selected file (or all files in the selected directory) to the queue.

Another option would be to have the unamed button bring up a menu (like it does in My Videos) and give you options (e.g., play this file, add to end of queue, add to start of queue).

Another thought is that is would be nice to be able to remove an item fom the current playlist or clear the playlist (I can't find a way of doing this) and maybe the Red button would be most appropriate for this. (using Rewind on my remote would not seem tooooooo unnatural to delete something Smile )

Would be grateful if you'd give this some consideration

Thanks

play. what if you have paused the music, play = resume.

remove an item is on the todo list, i have to wait for sub to add something to gbpvr first.

Ah, I didn't realise that play did that!

Thanks for your reply.

I guess you could press 'pause' to pause and press 'pause' again to un-pause. Thus freeing up the play button.

Sorry, I don't want to sound like I'm going on and on about this.

My base problem is that the red button does not work if you use direct access to the haupauge remote and in this plugin Red is used for the most useful function in the plugin.

Just a note, I'm not using MVP, this is not just an MVP issue, I use a PVR350. I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem with the red button.

I guess my other hope is that sub might fix the code for direct reading of the remote
(I'm guessing that this is where the problem is) so that it responds to the Red button.

What did you think to the idea of making the button with no name bring up a menu, this would have a number of benifits:
- Make it more consistent in style with My Videos,
- Allow more options about what to do with a song without needing more keys
- Give active confirmation that a song has been added to the queue (sometime I queue up a song twice by pressing the (REWIND Smile ) button twice because I don't know if it got the first press but if you did it of a pop up menu, the menu would dissappear when you selected the 'Queue' option, thus confirming that it did it).

Again, I'm not complaining about your work, I like it no end and intend to keep on using it, I'm just throwing up a few suggestions that would get round my problem and hoping you'll like one of them.

Thanks

All good stuff, but let's not decrease the functionality of the MVP & Remote Buttons. There are precious few!

Cheers

Hey, a possible solution to your adding items to the queue twice, because you were not sure the command took, is to use the BleepBloop plugin. It'll add audible confirmations for most if not all the remote button presses. You'll only get a sound if the button/keyboard combination was received by GBPVR.

Thanks for the suggestion KingArgyle, I'll give that a go and see how I find it.
