I do not know if this is a GBPVR problem or a Hauppauge problem but here it is, I have cable TV hooked up to my Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 card and most of the channels are tuned and I get great reception except for channels 3 through 13. On those channels, the top third of the screen looks like it is not tuned in correctly and has static. Any ideas???

Thanks

Have you tried the Hauppauge WinTV application? If so, does it tune these channels correctly? If it does, make a note of the freq. that the WinTV app. is using and try entering it in the capture source setup page. Just a thought.

Thanks for the tip, all the channels work fine in WinTV 2000, so I guess it is a tuning problem for GBPVR. I tried to find the frequencies for WinTV but could not find out how to copy the numbers. Any suggestions???

Thanks

Urrrm...pen and paper? Smile

I haven't used WinTV2000 much but I seem to remember the Suite Manager tuning thingy shows the frequencies as 6 digit numbers. Make a note of them and then go to GB-PVR Config, select Capture Source tab then Edit and enter the 6 digit number in the right hand column (the column heading is Source Channel, I think).

I opened WinTV 2000 and went to Suite Manager but the 6 digit frequency numbers were not listed. Thanks for the help.

Look at the wiki:
http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...gAssistant
where you can find some info on frequencies and such. You can also use FreqCopy (there is a link on that wiki page) and make it copy the frequencies from wintv2000 to gbpvr. Since you already have most of them right, you could still look at the freqcopy site in order to find info on where in the windows registry wintv2000 has its settings for which frequencies to use, and then you can use the previously suggested pen and paper to copy them and later enter them into gbpvr. Or just enter them as you read them off the registry :-)

I hope I understand this correctly but if my channels are tuned in properly in WinTV2000 and I use freqcopy it should copy the frequencies over to GBPVR, but I still have a problem in GBPVR. On channels 3, 5, 6, 15, & 16 the bottom 2/3 of the screen is tuned in while the top 1/3 is snowy. Is there anyway I can fine tune in certain channels?

Thanks

Yes, well, it should copy the frequencies.

A different approach is to use the tuning assistant to find out which frequencies those channels are on, and then enter those frequencies manually in gbpvr's config app. I haven't used the tuningassistant for ages, but I think it shows you the frequencies.

I tried using tuning assistant, and found that there is no audio... only video. Is this expected?
