I recorded a couple of shows last week. I'm seeing a jitter in the picture on playback. The episode of Dr. Phil my wife recorded didn't look too bad, but I notice a slight jitter. The episode of Two and a Half Men I recorded had quite a bit of jitter. I noticed mostly at time when there was a lot of rapid hand motions. It seemed to stablize when there was little motion. I never get any jitter in Live TV. Any thoughts on what adjustments need to be made. I'm using the DVD Xpack for Windows XP. I downloaded it last week, so it should be the current version.

Thanks,
Daris

Sounds like motion artifacts. Do you get horizontle cuts in fast motion? Do you get a strobing effect? What MUX are you using?

The motion artifacts are cuased by v-sync problems. Try disabling vsync in your graphics card setup. Also dont leave gbpvr codec config on system default. Try setting it to another codec like Cyberling or Intervideo. Motion artifacts are a feature of VMR. You could try overlay. That may fix it.

Thanks guys. I'll give that at try in the next day or two and let everyone know what happens.

I'm not sure what MUX filter I'm using. I'm new to all this (just built my PVR last week). How to I determine that?

Thanks,
Daris

No MUX filter is used when recording from an analog card like the PVR150/250/350/500 etc.

The MUX filter is only used when using a DVB-S/T device.

Thanks a million sub. Replacing the quartz.dll file with the 9.0b version fixed the problem.
