I got gbpvr for one week , Smile great program sub.
Last night i got an error on cmd.exe ? Dont know when its happend, after recording or somting else ?
When i look to the dosbox behind it itwas looking for something at the standard location of gbpvr "c:\programfiles\..."
I installed gbpvr on d:\gbpvr ?

And another "problem" I got the pvr350, and using the vidoe out.
I want also play dvd using the gbpvr menu.
Problem... when you select in the gb config that you use the hardware playback i dont get de play dvd in the menu. Yesi know that you cant play dvd trough the pvr350, but my tv got 2 intrances, so it would be easy to start a dvd using gbpvr. And then switching to the other channel.
That wil be more wive friendly Big Grin
How can i get that in the menu

cmd.exe-error:

do you have a bat-files in the gbpvr-directory (e.g. PostProcessing.bat, EPGUpdate.bat, etc)? maybe there is a wrong path or something.
and: "was looking for something at the standard location of gbpvr".. do you know _what_ application or file or whatever it was looking for? this will surely help finding place where the error happens.

dvd-playback:

do you have a hardware dvd-decoder card with a video out (i own a sigma design realmagic hollywood plus) or a graphic card with tv out?.. otherwise, i can't imagine how you want to get the dvd-video-stream in oyur tv?

if you have such hardware decoder, there is a possibility (two actually):

the first (and simpler):
add a custom task to the menu which starts your dvd application, switch to the right input on the tv set, et voila.

you will have to edit the irremote.ini-file that you can control the dvd app with your hauppauge-remote (works only if you do _not_ have 'direct access to hauppauge remote' in the GBPVR config activated).

the second:
hook up the output of the hardware decoder to the line in of the pvr-350.
define a new capture source for the input (no epg plugin or xmlttv plugin with a blank as filename). add a channel called 'DVD' or something.

then you'll need a plugin which catches the 'channel change-event, checks if the actual channel is the 'DVD'-channel, and if this is the case start the dvd application.

i wrote such a thing as a test (i just wanted to know if it works...).

well, it _does_ work. even that the video-stream gets decoded (hollywood plus), encoded (pvr-350 to stored in the live-tv-file) and decoded again (pvr-350 for tv out) the quality is really good. sound is also ok (not out of sync or something)

but there are several downsides:
- you can't change channels anymore (cause the focus is of on the dvd-app) until you press the button on the remote which closes the dvd app (in my case the green power-button). thats something i could live with it, and also something you can explain to the wife ™ or the girlfriend ™.
- due to the live-tv-buffer there is a delay from the moment you give a command until you see the result on the screen...
when i pressed pause, it took about 6 seconds until the video stopped... ok... this lowers the WAF/GAF... but its really awful when you navigate in menus...
you press 'navigate down'... waiting 6 seconds... cursor in dvd menu moves down on screen...

The PVR350 does not support DVD playback, so you wont see the DVD button on your GB-PVR menu.

Thnx for the answer Smile i gonna looking for that dam bat file .

The other thing. i'l try to explain it better.

For playing back a dvd i dont want 2 use de pvr350 out ...
I know it cant play dvd SUB. Rolleyes

My setup:

TV with 2 aux.
1 is connected to my pvr.350 out ... used for Tv recordings.
2 is connected to my TV out Off my shuttle pc
(need to tune the fans for lesser noise  )

So when i set gb full screen i see on both "aux" screens the same ,doh :p

Wat im asking is ; how i can ennable de DV button in the gb menu. When you use standard the pvr 350 out.
So i want put in a dvd , gbpvr start it up , the only thing i need to do know is just switching my tv to aux2 and i can wacht DVD.
It's wive friendly

you can't 'activate' it.

the dvd button is only visible when software decoding ('None - user software decoder' in the hardware decoder dvice listbox on the playback tab in the config tab) is activated.

so you have to use the first possibility i explained (external dvd player application, started from gbpvr with a custom task-button)

yes i know that also, it was more a question to Sub.

An idee for an extra option in gbpvr.
Where you can choose to see te dvd button yes or no.
Whit the restriction that the dvd wont play at de pvr out but is played at the tv out off your videocard.
So you get a message, when you setup your system on your pvr350 out
"you dvd is playing on the tv out "

Like the message you get on your tv out of your videocard when you are using de pvr350 out.

So you config gb playback -> using hardware playback for tv and software for DVD playback.

You cant choose. If you have the PVR350 tv out enabled, then the DVD button will not show up. This rule is hardcoded in the application.

I do this because GB-PVR is designed to be either configured use the PVR350 tv out or you normal graphics card. It cant switch between them without restarting the software.
