Am generally totally delighted with GB-PVR -- most of the time, it works like a dream.. I do have a problem with web-scheduling, however. I've looked through the forums, but can't find an answer to my specific problem.

I can access all the web-scheduling functions perfectly through my home network and the internet. (The only shortcoming I have with it, is that in the event of a program clash, it doesn't allow you to cancel a pre-booked slot, but just refuses to record the new request (no error message or notification - something to be improved in the next version there...).)

My major problem is that, when I click on a recording listed as "Available", it does not stream. But I can open the same recording by navigating to the folder on the PVR machine, so it's not a network problem. I have the impression that, whichever media player I use (WMP, R/Player, W/Amp and others), they are trying to download the whole file, rather than buffer and play. Eventually, after many minutes of "Connecting...", they time-out and crash.

I've gone through every possibility I can think of. If anyone has any bright ideas, I'd be really grateful for them!! If anymore info is needed on my set-up, will happily provide!!

Have you tried VideoLan? You need to use the firefox to open the web schedule it will ask you to choose which application to stream then pick videolan as default. If it does not stream, sometimes it is caused by the 0kb file size recordings.

Good luck.

normanr and I highly recommend the use of VLC for watching streaming video...it will not try to download the entire file before palying. I have tried many and VLC is the only one that seems to work.

As for the web scheduling probelm.....you should be able to cancel a pending show via the Manage Recordings tab. Is this what you wanted to do?
