Net Radio problem

Every time I try to go to the 'web' selection and then click one of the buttons (like 'alternative' or 'classical') I get a requester popping up telling me: "failed to download stations list for genre".

I've only noticed this after upgrading to 0.95.14. I do not see any strange things in the log files...

Any idea what might be going on?

Can you zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log?

It maybe your firewall getting in the way, even if it worked in the last release. Many firewalls will see there is a changed version of the binaries, and require firewall settings to be reset for that application.

Thanks for checking Sub. It appears there is a mentioning of the issue in the logfile (attached) but I can't make sense of it. (didn't notice it before, sorry about that)

I should also point out that live TV won't work on my MVP's (no response, and then when I push the stop botton I get a black screen). (it seems to work on the computer though) Since I hardly even use live-TV I didn't bother mentioning it, but you may see something in the logfile with regards to that.

I've tried to go back to the previous version by just putting my backup devnz folder over the new one, but the issues remained, so I just went back to the new one again by putting the new folder back.

Sorry, I dont know. There is really enough information in the log to pin point anything in particular.

I've tried it here and its working fine on my couple of machines.

I still think it must be something connectivity related, but if you're not running a firewall, them I'm not sure what.

I figured it out, and the mistake is on my side. My guess is that the data presented by net radio comes directly from http://www.shoutcast.com. For some reason my DNS didn't resolve http://www.shoutcast.com...

After I resolved the DNS issues (read: kicked the cr*&^&*p out of the W2K3 server) Net Radio seems to work fine.
