I am switching from MythTV and trying GBPVR out. MythTV was really grainy and stuttery when trying to watch tv and recording shows. On GBPVR, the shows seem a lot better quailty (not grainy), and the video doesn't stutter. However, the shows are awy too dark. Does anyone have any idea on how to change my tuner contrast?

When running the tuner assistant, the contrast is fine. I am able to see all the channels without them being overly dark.

I am really excited to start using GBPVR.

Thanks
-Hans

:EDIT: I downloaded HauppaugeTweakTool and i changed the brightness. The picture is not too dark. Now, my Girlfriend (and i agree with her) that the picture is "fuzzy and the colors are not right". What would i do to fix this?

Thanks

You'd probably have to fiddle around (quite a lot) with your graphics card settings. Are you using tv-out on your graphics card?
I'm not always right

Have you tried changing the colour & sharpness settings using the tweaktool?

Leave most of the Haup settings as default, and stick w/ playing w/ brightnees/contrast (to keep colors correct). W/ some old haup drivers, I had to adjust brihgt down as far as -20 and contrast to 121 (so drivers matter, too).

Also try resetting vid driver defaults for color, in case you made adjustments (or Myth did) to you colors to make it look right.

the quick way to change the brightness value is to edit direct.ini in gbpvr folder. Change brightness from auto to 75.

K thanks, so basically just fiddle with the Haup, and keep my video to defaults. Thanks.

The video seems to "lag". The play back isn't smooth. How would i fix that? Thanks

PVR 150
1 gb ram

Its a clean install of windows. It has been used for the internet to download drivers and such.

Your PC spec is good enough. First, you need to try some simple troubleshooting first. Try different MPEG2 decoder, then Overlay or VMR9, etc... before heading to the graphic driver.
