Help with wintv-pvr 250 remote

I installed the wintv software and installed the ic.exe software which is the remote software. Then I installed the gb-pvr software. I have everything working but the remote. I did channel changer .exe and the I put in the ir.exe and then it has a parameters and it says {channel}. But when I start the gb-pvr software the remote does nothing can somebody please help. thanks.

When GB-PVR is first installed, you need to restart the ir.exe software to force the ir.exe program to pickup the new settings in the irremote.ini file (which now includes GB-PVR control mappings).

So should I have the remote software started when I have the gbpvr on or should I have the remote software shut off and then start it after the gbpvr is on

Yes, you should have the hauppauge ir.exe running. It is responsible for handling any communication with the remote control. When it detects IR signals, it then looks at the foreground application. If the foreground application (GB-PVR) is listed in its configuration file (irremote.ini), then it sends fake keystrokes to the application (GB-PVR).

There is a slightly different way it can be run (without ir.exe), but I wont get into that - it'll just confuse things for you...

ok I tried that and the only thing that works is the full screen button. nothing else works on the remote

Try killing ir.exe, and enable the "use direct access to hauppauge remote" option in the GB-PVR config app,

I am also getting when I trie and say watch live tv I get a.
ir startup
found ir controller (30)

fw version=16

then an ok button

I am not sure what this means

ok I shut off the ir.exe but I am not sure how to do the use dirct access to hauppauge remote How do I do this?

There is a setting in the config app called "use direct access to hauppauge remote". Try enabling it.
