Installing plugins corrupt GBPVR installation

When I try to install plugins that automatically copy the files to the gbpvr directory for me, sometimes I get the following error on the screen:

"Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check setup."

Once this happens, I can't load the GBPVR frontend without uninstalling and reinstalling GBPVR.

The weird thing is that it doesn't happen everytime for all plugins that automatically install. It's totally random as far as I can tell.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

The "ShowSearch" plugin was the first one that did it. Then the weather plugin did it. But then I have had both of them install successfully before and after I started having issues with them.

I have had that happen a few times.

dont uninstall gbpvr.
just install it ontop of itself. (or repair if it gives you that option)
that works for me.
Server--AthlonXP 2100+ \ PVR150MCE \ HVR1600 x2

You are probably missing the commongbpvrutilities.dll file. If you reinstall the plug-ins it should fix it. if you post your gbpvr.exe.log file it will probably say what file is mising.

Hi Jeff,
I tried ShowSearch last night but it was not listed under plugins, and gave the following error in config.exe.
The other plugins I have installed are, X-Record, TV Listings & My Videos.

You need the video archive.mdb file from the video archive plug-in. I;ve been trying to upload it as an attachment to this response but I am having problems. The easiest thing to do would be to download the VA plug-in from the wiki site and install it to get the missing file. You don;t need to use the VA plug-in; you just need the DB.
