I am using a Hauppauge 150. When I play back recordings on my computer (and the TV from the computer) I get blurry video when there is a lot of motion. It's as if there is a small trail behind something when it moves quickly. I've burned some recordings to DVD and the same does not happen when played on the DVD player, so I know it's not the video file's problem.

What kind of settings can I change to avoid this problem? In general it's not a big deal, but when I try to watch a football game where the ball is thrown downfield, it's a little bit tough to follow the action.

what kind of graphics card do you have? modern graphics card have hardware deinterlacing (which is what I think you need to get working), which is enabled when using the right settings for your software decoder. The settings are different for different combinations of decoders and graphics cards, so... there is a user on this forum, csy, who has provided loads of information on that matter... try a search in the forums.

If you graphics card does not have hardware deinterlacing, some people have reported better results from using dscaler.

I have a GeForce 6200 card with 128 MB, so I'm sure it supports it. I guess I'll search other forums for more info. Thanks.

Yes, according to the following link it does. http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo_support.html Not for HD-material, though. The thread below is a good place to start:
