Not yet. I will.

No, but they are the same ones I used when all was working smoothly.

Yes, two of them. What should I do about these?

I would try it. Some of the plugins start background threads that do stuff even while they're not active on the screens. Changes in .net 2.0 may mean they're not running as smooth as they may have been in the past.

Thanks Sub. The patch solved my video stutter problem.

I've tried the patch, but with no luck.

I also spent quite a bit of time yesterday doing some DirectX tinkering, including reinstalling it, then going through every version of quartz.dll I could find. No change.

Disabling all the plugins didn't help, either (all I had in there was Weather, anyway).

I don't run MVP, but I do use a TV set as my second monitor.

My X1800 ATI card is using all of the latest drivers.

I seriously wish I could bring my computer to New Zealand, but that's a bit of a trip from Vancouver. Smile

Alright, I've got a fix for my problem now:

VMR7

Strange, because I thought I had tried that while ago... but regardless, I switched to it and now enjoy rock-steady playback with all the decoders, including DScaler5.

Of course, it's still not ideal, since I've got a fairly high-end Radeon X1800 card, but can't use VMR9. But with some tinkering, I should be able to calibrate the video output to look decent...

Thanks for everyone's help!

Okay, add another "glitch" to this solution.

Now, every time I go to play something, the VRM7 forces my ATI Radeon X1800 driver to drop out of "Video Mode", resulting in a much poorer quality image.

Sad

The other modes don't do this.

Sad, that I'm soooooo close to perfection!!!

Okay, I think it's finally fully resolved!!!

I completely uninstalled the ATI drivers and put them back. VRM7 now runs fine without dropping the ATI drivers out of "video mode" -- so the quality is back to where it should be!

The moral of the story is: when trouble-shooting, don't change too many options at once or you'll lose track of what you're actually testing.

I think we've all been down that road. The problem is that the next time, we'll do the mistake again Smile

I would second this. Removing the Music Library2 plugin seems to have fixed my video stuttering problem at the moment. Music Library2 was creating giant log files in the gbpvr/jeff directory. (NOTE: I may not have been running the most current version of the plugin).
