2 Remote Issues using HIP

Using the Hauppauge MCE Remote. How do I stop the Guide key from opening the Vista MCE Guide and how do I get the green start button to only open GBPVR? Right now it starts Vista MCE.

well, normally i'd say use the 'alternate irbus driver' but that's vista, not sure if it works there...

hmmm, i'm thinking the same thing that works for the new hauppauge 45 button remote will work..taking it out of the 'supported MCE remotes' list in registry..
that way the driver still works, it's just ignored by the media center app..
i know where the key is in MCE2k5 but vista may be different..

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Remote Controls

match up the device driver's hardware id [in device manager] and remove it from that list..
write back if you find the one for Vista

with 2005 mce you have to stop the app from loading at startup
