Hi
when I play back a PAL XVID avi in Media Player it looks amazing. I know I can't expect the same quality via MVP, but it seems to be significantly worse and I would like to tweak my transcoding to get the best quality. What is messing up playback is not stuttering but a lot of jaggedness (jaggies) on any curves like text. It is especially noticeable in title sequences and big logos. I don't get this on Mpegs created by GBPVR, only on AVIs playing via the MVP. I would like some tips on where to start tweaking or different codecs to try. I am not sure if it is compression artifacts, some sort of deinterlacing artifact (source is not interlaced) or just poor mpeg quality.
My specs:
Athlon XP2400 768MB Ram, MVP, Muxchecker reports Intervideo 3.0.88.0, Cyberlink 5.0.1307 on the playback tab in config everything is at default, PVRX2/GBPVR renderers are VMR9 Custom, I am trying to play back a PAL XVID with AC3, 640 x 272. No FFDShow, No FFMpeg.
