Hi,

I have this remote that came with the computer, and not an MCE remote but works almost like one. I think it's a cyberlink remote, though it's called something else. Anyways, I've selected Default under DVD/Remote, installed EventGhost and used that xml file for the MCE remote but changed the buttons to correspond with my remote. So, when I used my remote to open pvrx2, I thought I was good to go,

But, it didn't work. After some playing around I found out that my remote doesn't work because the keyboard shortcuts doesn't work for pvrx2 either. Well, it works on some shortcuts but not all. Like Ctrl P doesn't play a song or a video. Ctrl S works to stop it, but not Ctrl X to increase volume.

Am I missing something? When I use EventGhost and keyboard shortcuts in Gb-pvr, it works just fine, but not with pvrx2.

Could someone help me?

Thank you!

I use HIP for my remote and had to emulate key presses for the keys.

Have got everything working fine with PVRX2.

Ctrl P works fine for me.
For Volume I use - & +.
Colour buttons work fine CTRL B - blue, CTRL Y - yellow, CTRL R & CTRL G.

Only one I couldn't get working was Mute!!

If you need any other maps let me know

Hi again,

Since it worked for you, I figured I could test it out/try it out again, so I downloaded v.1.1.5 again and installed it on another computer that I have, and it did the same for me there, so I looked at it again on my first computer and thought of other creative ways ctlr p could do, and I think I found it.

When I'm in the Music or Video Library and I first want to select a song to be played, it seems I have to press enter or select Play from the left. After it has started playing, if I press Ctrl Q, it pauses. When it's in pause, I can then press Ctrl P to unpause it. But if I press Ctrl S to stop the song from playing, I can't press Ctrl P to play it again. Is this how it works for you?

Is this how it was meant to be? With the older Gb-Pvr I can just go into one of those libraries and when I press Ctrl P it plays a song or a video that is selected, but not in Pvrx2. That's how I would like it in pvrx2.

(And just to add to this, I still don't get the audio to increase/decrease in volume with Ctrl X or Z.)

Just checked.

To get Video to play I keep pressing OK on remote equiv enter key (you need to use enter to get to the selection you want so its quicker on just one key)

Can then pause with CTRL Q and continue with CTRL P.

If use CTRL S need to use enter to play again.

In Music the same ie OK key (Enter) to play then CTRL S, CTRL P for pause/play.

In Music Library 2 pressing play (CTRL P) causes song to play if use enter it gives details on song.

Sorry if I misinformed you. I believe that enters/play/pause/stop all work how they should.

If they did have play starting a video what should it do start from beginning or resume?

Re volume I never got CTRL X or Z to work try the keys - and +, they work for video & music (both Music Library and Music Library2

I see what you mean. I never did think of that. And as you've suggested, I just needed to think of a better way to program the remote. In stead of making Play emulate Ctrl P, I just make it emulate Enter, and ta da! It plays when i press Play. In addition, I just make it also emulate Ctrl P after Enter, that way when i press Pause, I can still press Play to make it continue.

Anyways, I have another question/comment. I changed the config so that when I press F12, it goes into Shut Down, but nothing happens. Is it another one of those I'm thinking differently things? I did this:
<DefaultPluginPower>Shut Down</DefaultPluginPower>

And when I'm in pvrx2, i press F12, but nothing. I was wanting pvrx2 to close when I press a button on my remote=keyboard shortcut. Is this not how it was meant to work, maybe? In stead of scrolling down to Exit and then pressing enter or mouse clicking it, it would be nice with a shortcut?

You can send the Alt-F4 keystrokes to application to close it.
