Hi

My GBPVR set-up has recently developed a problem connecting with my MVP's.

If I use Martins MVPMC dongle I get stuck at "Starting application" If I power of and on again with the remote the connection might succeed in about 50% of the cases. The Hauppage dongle fails much in the same way with about 1 in 2 tries succeeds (Contacting servers).

I'm fairly sure that this problem occurred with my 1.2.9 installation. Thinking that the problems was related to some quirky problem I reinstalled XP including SP3 and reinstalled every thing, but the problem is still there.

Turning the Windows firewall of makes no difference

I have enclosed my logs and telnet prints.

Can you enable log flushing, then reproduce the problem and repost the logs?

You probably need to downgrade your version of PVRx2.exe. What date are you running? I was going to mention this to sub buf forgot

VERBOSE [6] Using horizontal resolution = 0
VERBOSE [6] Using vertical resolution = 0
ERROR [6] MVP Exception: Parameter is not valid.

I had a little play with the 7th and 8th may PVRX2.exe patches last night and the MVP rebooted continuously. I am not sure if this was the Eventghost stuff I was playing with but here are the logs anyway. I went back to an earlier PVRX2.exe and it seemed OK.

I have tried the following versions of pvrx2.exe, 2008-03-09 and 2008-03-28. I have tried the mvpmc alpha dongle from 2008-04-05 and 2008-02-18

I will reproduce the problem and post the log with flush enabled to night

I have tried log flushing option in config. It turns out that it has two functions in my set up. If I enable it the connection problem disappears and wise versa.

I have tried several times both with the MVPMC and hauppauge dongle and the result is the same. As long as log flushing is enabled I get almost instant connection to the server.

It look like some timing problem in my set-up with log flushing disabled.

Could you set your config to just autostart one MVP server and try again (you might need to turn off some machines). I'm thinking this isn't timing as much as a conflict with VNC or something similar.

With one MVP server running I get "instant" connection with log flush enabled. I normaly start 3 servers. My GBPVR box is remotely administrated via Real VNC
