MVP restart on playback

This is happening consistently on one recording (The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe). It was recorded from BBC1 using my PVR500 and we don't normally have any playback issues with analogue recordings.

I'm using the native Recordings plugin and each time I try to play it, the MVP screen goes black as if it's attempting playback then the MVP reboots. The only things I can see unusual about it are the size of the file (3.8GB) and the length of the filename. I've watched the first minute or so using WMP and it plays fine with no glitches or loss of AV sync.

Log included - last attempt at about 16:13:36 today.

Does setting <MVPUseShortFilenamesOnNMT> to true help at all?

Yep - that did the trick so it was the length of filename after all. It's 155 characters long - what's the limit for the MVP and is it a limitation of the MVP dongle or the pvrx2 MVP process?

I asked sub to add this feature so that PCH users could load files directly from a share or from the local PCH drive. For the actual protocol between the mvp and gbpvr on it's own it doesn't offer any value. It's nice for me though because when the next gen PCH's come out with a VFD display, I will be able to show a useful filename.

The downside to the feature is sub hasn't completed the work needed to truly handle long filenames with accented characters that might need latin 8859-1 or utf-8 character set. Sheik Yerbouti's example today is one example http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...st&t=39727

The setting was only supposed to apply to PCH/NMT users, but a flaw in my logic meant that it also applied to MVP users. I've corrected it for the next build.

If its not there already, then pretty much anywhere. Keep it with the other <MVP...> setting to keep it tidy though.
