Playback is flawless here using budget Nvidia 7 series and Purevideo.

Thanks for the update on the Coombe Dingle mines. They are near here and I drive that way sometimes. It's good to know that the road ain't gonna sink.

Thanks, at least the tuner / source file seems ok. What kind of display hardware (TV/monitor) have you got?

I didn't actually watch this test recording so have no idea what you're talking about! But it's good to think that you got some useful info as a by-product of helping me out Smile

Hi.
You need to post screenshot here, not grf file. I am not able to open it if i didnt have same decoders installed.

If you want my help, install unlocked SAF, then start some local video/DVD in GP-PVR, connect graphstudio, create screenshot and post here.

You can send SAF.log too, look to root on your system partition.

Then i will be able to tell you what is wrong with your setup...

EDIT:
I tested your "Copy of BBC ONE_20090707132000.ts" example on my SAF and it is working flawlesly. Your example is MPEG video with two audio tracks and subtitles.
Here is graph: (DXVA ON, CPU usage ~4-10%)

After a clean install on a test partition I now have a similar graph (see zip). Would be interested in your comments on the differences even though video playback looks good now.

What I have discovered is that my graphics card drivers (CCC) work better with 'video mode' enabled. The only problem is that it causes overscan issues but I think some config.xml tweaking can fix this.

edit: Playing with OverScanBorder... settings in the config.xml file did fix it

ps. thanks for your help and the SAF pack Smile

Also, have you got a readme or links for all the codecs and files included in the SAF pack - it would be nice to know what it's doing.

One other thing, is the SAF pack and it's codecs suitable for DVD playback - including 5.1 surround sound?

I recall that Csy always recommended using video-mode but I was never convinced that it looked better, the overscan removed 10% of the image and the gbpvr menus flickered like hell. Is video mode still applicable to digital display panels as opposed to CRT?

Havn't noticed any flicker here (yet).

I don't know, only got an oldish Sony CRT here.

For anyone reading this the root fix was to use Powercolor drivers instead of ATI ones.

This is true for WinXP, and Windows 7.
