I understand that setting the environment is a bit harder than with a UI but ultimately you will be one of a very few  users of this feature.  Realistically the emulation is only needed for Plex because it doesn't support IPTV.  From NextPVR using IPTV  makes a lot more sense since internally NextPVR will just call the same http stream.

Any problems you see are more likely because you are testing with the web browser and not a direct play client. That has been my experience with streaming from Chrome capture and similar Channels DVR sourced channels

It's not so much the activity of setting up an environment variable - I know how to do that. It's figuring out what should go into it. I found an ID string in the PrismCast logs, so tried this in the environment var:

80E9E00A:127.0.0.1:5004

But it didn't help.


As for the IPTV stream, it seems to work sometimes but not others. At the moment, I'm not getting any video with the IPTV streams (though I was getting some a couple days ago) with either the web client or the direct play client - same with putting the stream URLs into VLC. I was hoping the HDHR emulation would be more stable. I might have to give in and set up Channels and/or Plex to see if I can make it work - but those are PrismCast issues, not NextPVR issues.

What is it counting? (aka how do I know what to put in the 3rd section?). Is it how many HDHRs it sees already, plus 1?

These should match the prismcast MAX_CONCURRENT_STREAMS value however because of the nature of Chrome Capture your Docker will need to define how many your Docker is capable of. I expect the default of 10 will be hard to manage. Using the IPTV you would set match the number of streams.

Of note this is another reason to use IPTV the HDHRs are considered 10 different devices so harder to manage.
