Yes there was, there are 6 TV's scattered through the house and only two of us so it seemed logical to use one for each of us that we would have access to everywhere, and of course then I'd only need two MVP's
My Audio system has a built in IR control system. i just installed the MVP's with the rest of the audio'video equipment and stuck an emitter on them. It's been working very well, well enough that I've dumped my VCR's completely. I've saved one in case someone shows up with an old video tape to watch, but it hasn't happened in well over a year so i think my VCR's are outta here soon.
BTW i do the same thing with a 400 disk DVD player and it makes watching a DVD anywhere so much easier as well. The only place that the mvp's or the DVD is fed directly to the TV is in the media room where you'd want the best picture. In the kitchen watching the morning news doesn't really need surround sound and digital picture displays.
