Sure - I'm still haven't quite polished off things due to "time constraints" so it's not elegant, but I'm getting by fine at the moment with the following. Note:

* I am using it with Girder 4
* I have got a button programmed to toggle through a list of URL's and throw them onto the screen (e.g. weather etc) - still haven't found a way to do this without closing the browser each time, but noting I don't want to have to grab focus on the IE window to do this (i..e would impact someone using the pC) - there are some custom functions in the GML file in other words

Hi Mixedub

I have just Bought Girder 4, and have (with no luck) tried to use the default Girder 4 - GB-PVR setup
http://www.promixis.com/download.php?ID=854

After mapping all the keys on my new Remote Wonder Plus

The result is that only Arrow Up & Arrow down works nothing else.
(On the plus side I can now KEEP the GB-PVR window minimized!)Big Grin
And I bought girder because I was told (By Promixis/Girder) that the new version 4 was easy to use because of these "Definition" files that people already have made...Only problem is that it dosent work

Can you share any light on what could be wrong.
Your attached file is a gml file but the new Girder 4 uses XML right.
I tried to load your Definition but that reslulted in a crash of the Girder software.

Do I have to do any changes to the GB-PVR conf file? in order to use Girder correct?

Hey,

The two areas to solve are (a) your remote is recognised by Girder, which you seemed to have solved and (b) configuing girder for GB-PVR.

The girder config is an xml file but is usually renamed as a *.gml file I think. Anyway the file I posed was based on Girder 4 Beta 10 PRE 2, as the guys are continually putting out new Beta releases in the lead up to the final v4 release. I would have thought you should be able to open it in any recent versions of Girder 4 Beta.

Anyway the key things I've learnt are:

* you will ultimately need to read up on girder and know how to create a simple script that uses "KEYBOARD" actions, to send keys out.

* ensure you use girder's test facilities to check you actions/events work, then when they work THEN test that the remote triggers them off correctly

* for GB-PVR ultimately all I have done is for each button you:
(a) create a Girder KEYBOARD ACTION
(b) type in the key you want to send to GB-PVR, noting the girder documentation re how to do special keys like CONTROL-A etc
© MAKE SURE YOU TARGET using the girder tool GB-PVR - easiest is to have gb-pvr running then drag the girder icon (a girder feature) from Girder to GB-PVR - I make sure I have NAME, CLASSNAME, EXECUTABLE included in the targettnig. This is probably the most important. With GB-PVR if you get this right then your remote can work to GB-PVR wihtout it even having to have the focus.

* then test this works

* for multiple keys you can use a GIRDER macroevent (i.e. you can just put multiple keyboard actions within this)

Hope this helps. Not sure why my script wouldn't work. Perhaps try the latest event. If you could just open my *.GML file up so you could examine it that woudl be useful.

Great that helped me alot.

Just a last newbie question.

Did you get the "Move to specific channel + number" to work

I have tried just to set 1 = "1" to the remote and then press "OK" but that dosent work....

I got the rest of the keyboard working with the remote!

Cheers & Thanks for the god info!Big Grin

actually I didn't (must have missing this when I was mapping), the on-screen-guide seems to work ok though (ctrl-g from memory)

glad to have helped
