Do you actually have BDA drivers installed? The older Nova-T cards did not come with BDA drivers.

I really appreciate you guys helping me with this, just though I'd mention that.

I changed the name of the card to the Haupage Wintv Nova-t 90002 (although the box says 909) and it started scanning. It is now officialy working!

Thanks to everybody who helped on this one!

NEW xmltv tv_grab_uk_rt problem:

Has anyone found any problems fetching UK listings via "xmltv.exe tv_grab_uk_rt" today ?

I have tried all evening (2006/02/12) to resolve the problem but find I am still unable to download any new listings.

Other oddities include that the Radio Times.com channels file is no longer on their web site.
i.e. http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/channels.dat

I tried downloading the very latest "xmltv.exe" binary for Windows (xmltv-0.5.42-win32) and repeated my tests, but it made no difference.

I also tried searching Google to look for anyone else reporting problems, but found nothing in 2006.

Any ideas ?

I am hoping it is simply a temporary glitch with the Radiotimes.com web site, especially as my GBPVR TVGuide is currently empty except for previously scheduled recordings!

If they are withdrawing their EPG listings download service, that will be a real blow for us PC PVR users.

the feed wasnt updated today, the update process probably crashed whilst prodcuing the channel file for some reason. yesterday's listings are still available, p.s. my grabber from http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv is still working as it doesn't download the channel file before downloading the listings

Hi Birty, Chud,

Unfortunately when I tried your XML GUI (earlier in the evening as part of my attempts to identify the cause of my xmltv problems) I clicked the "Refresh Channels" button - and that wiped out all my previous listed Channels from UK_RT. The list is now empty - in both columns (available / selected).

From the comments posted, I can only hope that someone at Radiotimes.com will notice tomorrow, or an update will automatically run to upload the next snapshot of data - fixing things in the process.

Failing that, I might be "begging" you later for a copy of your "UK_RT\userchannels.txt", so I can use your XML GUI to fetch my listings until the xmltv "channels.dat" is present again. :-)

regards

Paul,

I've attached my channels.lua file from the settings\UK-RT folder of my XMLTV GUI installation. This will give you the list of available channels in the Settings page so you can rebuild your list for download.

Cheers,
Brian

Thanks Brian

As it is, 2 runs today seem to be working fine.
Whatever was wrong at the radiotimes.com site, and why the "channels.dat" file was missing seems to have resolved itself. In fact, the "channels.dat" tail now has some interesting new Channels re: Winter Olympics.

I may amend my Daily schedule download Batch script in future to archive so many days of downloads just so I can re-load a working schedules if there is a short lasting glitch like this again.

Thanks everyone.
Paul K

P.S. I am considering buying another TV Tuner card - reliable, no-frills DVB-T. It would be my 3rd - and might even consider the Hauppage PVR 500 Dual Tuner, as one of my current cards (MEDION Hybrid Analogue+Digital SA7134) seems to display a poorer quality picture than the other (Twinhan DTV-Ter).

Any recommendations in the £40-65 price range ?
I haven't seen any PVR500's under £90 on eBay but it may be worth the extra money to get 2 tuners off a single coaxial feed (and not have to split the incoming aerial feed again).
