Yes, then just hit the 'learn' button and follow the prompts.

I have the Dish 301.. the OSD for GBPVR on the skin I'm using (Contour) is at the bottom of the screen, and the Dish's own OSD is at the top of the screen. I thought it would look bad or annoying, but really it's not bad at all. The Dish OSD goes away somewhat quickly, and I don't really notice it anymore.

sub, maybe in a future release, could there be a feature for timeshifting mode where the channel change is done first, and then the old graph is changed and the new buffer file starts.. this way, the time it takes for the channel change can occur while the PC is setting up the new buffer.. so it would work a lot better.. just a thought? although i suppose you might lose a second or two of the new channel in the buffer, but if it was a setting then people could choose if they wanted it or not..

I found out that usb-uirt can learn any frequency..at close range.. THe 56khz add on is so you can use remotes with that frequency from a normal distance!! So it would appear as though it would work just fine...

GB-PVR asks the drivers to learn the signal, then it saves the resulting string to a text files.

Honestly, just buy it and try it. It'll most likely do exactly what you want.

I'll add to that. USB-UIRT is the simplest thing I've ever installed and setup.
GBPVR's learning wizard will make it a 10 second job. 15 secs at the outside...

You can even plugin a second IR Emitter and tape it to your box, provided you get one with a 2nd port.
