Cheers for the logs. Yes, it does look to be the same. I was hoping to see two sets of logs showing this same cause. The logs from jjakober didnt show this same problem.

Can you see if the attached patch helps?

I think that has fixed it, sub. I tried it with the latest dongle.bin which failed every time before and it worked with three dongle loads this time.

Undoubtedly unrelated, but that dongle has trouble finding my server and when I look on my PC screen I see a small window saying MVP thread listening on port nnnn. I have to OK it before the dongle load can complete. Think I might keep this one as it even displays larger images (over 1MB) unlike several earlier ones.

Thanks - it seems clear you hone in on the right place.

Sub,

I started Deadliest Catch from the MVP and it worked fine. I then turned off the MVP with the power button then turned it back on and tried to start Deadliest Catch again and I got the black screen. The red LED on the MVP did not respond to the remote so I unplugged the MVP, applied the patch, restarted the GBPVR service, and reconnected the power to the MVP. I was then able to start Deadliest catch on the MVP. Next I turned off the MVP with the power button then turned it back on and I was able to watch Deadliest Catch, YEAH!!! I think the patch did the trick. I have included the log files that should include the above sequence of events.

Thanks again for such a great program!

Maybe I jumped the gun!! After getting the MVP to successfully play Deadliest Catch after power cycling it with the patch applied, I decided to try out the new dongle.bin(3.0.24088). I unplugged the MVP, replaced the old dongle.bin with the new one, restarted the GBPVR service and then reconnected the power to the MVP. Once it booted I tried to start Deadliest Catch and got the black screen, but this time the red LED responded to the remote and I was able to power cycle the MVP. I tried to start Deadliest Catch again and got the same results. Bumber! I am going to load the old dongle.bin and leave the patch applied and see if the problem goes away. Here are some more logs for your viewing pleasure!

jjakober, that last log looks like you dont have the patch applied. The error message looks pre-patch...

Disreguard my previous 2 messages!! I had not correctly applied the patch. Now with the patch correctly applied I am able to power cycle the MVP and the play back of recordings continues to work. Sorry for the confusion.

I do have a question about this patch, is the comskip patch included with this patch? It appears that the ability to skip commercials is not working with this patch applied. The commercials are marked in the time line but they are not automatically skipped and they don't skip when you hit the play button either.

Later,

Sub,

As usual, you are correct!

But I have another one for you. With this patch applied after I power cycle the MVP I get the following dialog box on my GBPVR pc:

MVP Control Thread Listening on Port: 5906

The MVP will not connect untill I click "OK". Any ideas?
