Should I be installing the 2.0 SDK? Which version:
x86 version
x64 version
IA64 version

I'm running XP home on a Dell 1100 Dimention. Sorry for so many newbie questions!

k I have done the following:

1. unstalled GBPVR
2. rebooted
3. downloaded and installed http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...TCFSetupv2.msi
4. rebooted (just in case)

now I'm getting an error msg: To run this application, you must first intall one of the following versions of the .Net Framework: V2.0.50727. Contacy your app.....

I am beginning to suspect that it was not correct to install the dotnetfx file when I searched for .NET V2.0.50727

Any suggestions?

I think the dotnetfx is .Net V1.1. I installed that before I installed the one you gave me the link for. Could they be in conflict??? How can I unistall the dotnetfx? I dont' see it in the Start menu or program files.

ok, I have done the following, I'm further along, but not there....

1. Remove .NET 1.1
2. Remove .NET 2.0
3. Reboot
4. Install .NET 2.0
5. Reboot
6. ran HCWClear
7. Reboot
8. Followed directions as per documentation
9. Reboot

I would think that things would go better. Well, they sort of are.... I no longer get an error when I start up from a reboot (finally) but the software is not available from the Start/Programs. It is not clear if it is installed correctly . I have the cable plugged into the back and RCA jacks connected from the card to the TV via input 1. The TV is set on Input 1 too but I get nothing as for output. When I look in the file system, The only files are in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Transcoder\Net Radio. I click on test1 & test2 and it appears to be playing music but since I don't have a sound card, I can only guess. I expected to at least be able to hear the music from the TV but I get nothing. Any other suggestions?

What? If i understand you correct, then you connected the PVR-500 directly to your television? This CAN't work.

Second thing: You say, that only Net Radio is left with gb-pvr folder. This means: GB-PVR ISN'T installed. Are you sure, you reinstalled it?

Yeah, and you will need a sound card to get any benefit from the software / tuner.

Unless you plan on taking all of your recorded file off onto another machine.

The Dell site lists the Dimension 1100 as having integrated 2.1 channel sound - do you have a headphone jack on the back of your machine?

So, to use a PVR system you need:
Sound (integrated in your motherboard)
PVR card
Video card with TV-Out (which I dont think you have - Can anyone confirm, Dell states it has "Integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2") - or a box which will connect your PC to the TV (take the monitor plug output and gives you a TV out connection)

The RCA connections you have made on your PVR are actually INPUTS to capture whatever video source you want plug in (cable box, DVD, camcorder etc)
So unplug those, can maybe as a test - connect the TV output RCAs to the input of the PVR and fire up the TV program on the PC.
You probably wont have sound as you need a way of connecting the audio output of the PVR500 to the sound card in your machine (usually using the "line In" socket)

Get the system working with the Hauuppage software, so that you get picture and sound on your monitor before you try and use GBPVR, then you will know the card is installed correctly.

Is your Dell the entry level package? or did you get any extras? Are there any RCA / s-video sockets on the back?

Thank
