If you haven't checked it out, it is very well done.

I did take a very brief look at the website but its too hot for me to bother doing anything right now particularly if it involves thinking :-)

Have you seen the mysterious Kega directory issue on your setup with version 0.5?
As I am baffled to what is causing it... but then see previous statement ;-)

No I haven't but I don't use the nes or gba emulators.

As far as stepmania goes, just download version 3.9.
There are many songs on sourceforge. I think all of the DDR packages on other platforms have been converted.

Here is a link
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles..._id=161325
open up the + on songs and you will see all the packages.
Really cool. It's playable on a keyboard or a joystick but a dance pad is the way to go.

I looked at all of the packages and I didn't see ultramix2 and ultramix3.
They have been converted too, but I guess not on sourceforge. Ultramix1 is a good selection though.

idkpmiller: It sounds like the new version will be able to work with stepmania. I am really excited for the next version.

Thanks go to HydroChronic for reporting and helping me to replicate the unhandled exception error when adding rom paths.

It would seem this should have impacted anyone that has been upgrading and uses a newly supported emulator such as VGBA, NES, Amiga etc..

The patch below will solve the issue.

Thanks

Pastro:

I am getting totally lost with PinMame. I am trying to play the KISS table I have downloaded both the table called Kiss and the ROM called Kiss,

Where should I put them? can you confirm that the KISS table and ROM are good workers if not give me a simple idiots guide to getting a table that runs, where to put the files and what to start up.

How do I start the tables up? if I double-click on the table it tells me the ROM is not found although the path is correct and the ROM is there. I tried using PinMame to launch and on kingpin table I just get the top LED section of the table and thats it.

Please try and explain how this hangs together.

Thanks

EDIT

Here is a link to how the vpforums set it all up.
http://www.vpforums.com/forum/showthread...adid=17218

Mine is slightly different in that my visual pinball resides in pinmame, their's the op
psite

END EDIT

When I originally did mine there was an easyinstallkit. I don't see that anymore. Here's the way mine is setup.

You need to install pinmame first. Mine is in c:\pinballpack.
You have to run the setup program in pinballpack, check your paths and press install.

Then install the visual pinball program from http://www.vpforums.com/vptables/tables.php
You install the Visual Pinball 7alpha (full install) first
and then Visual Pinball 7 (exe only)

I installed mine in c:\pinballpack so I have a directory called:
Visual Pinball in pinballpack that contains:

Doc,Tables, music, scripts,user and Vpinball.exe

Download the scripts and put them in the scripts dir. Download your tables and put them in the tables dir (all of these in the visual pinball dir)

Download ROMs and put them in the pinballpack/Roms dir
I also had to copy all of the scripts to the roms dir as well to get a few tables to find them.

To run a game, dclick on vpinball and load the table that you want. Then press the > button.

My kit included VPlauncher which is a very nice front end for the vpinball.
If this doesn't work, I'll go install the whole thing on another computer and document how I did it. I'm pretty sure what I have above should work.

I could also zip up the whole thing that I have and all you would have to do is unzip and run the setup and press install. It's about 800meg unpacked. Do you have an ftp site? That would let you get a really easy way to decide if you want to include it.

Great job on the fix idkpmiller. GameZone works flawlessly now. Glad I could be of service and good luck on the next release. Cool

idkpmiller,
I did rar the entire dir up. I have an FTP server that I can give you access to if you want. My upload is not that great - about 400kb The file is about 700meg but it has lots of tables.
If you want it I'll PM the details.

Please, it may be the quickest way to get a "good" feel for the setup.
