Thanx for all the hard work sub - the GBPVR product is fantastic !! and far better than any of the many alternatives I have tried. However I guess it would be too good to last, and it was, the 'starting on 2nd display' is an absolute must for me - so it will be back to using the old interface and time to stop looking forward to all the great new features that are bound to be added Sad
Once again, thanks for all the work up to and including v1.0.8 (with the GBPVR interface Smile ... and best wishes for the future, I'm sure you will continue to please many other users.
Kind Regards.

Is it the way the interface works that's not under your control or the decision to go to the animated interface?

Just curious...

Its because I'm using Direct3D for the user interface and video playback. Direct3D gives us lots of things, higher quality text rendering, resolution independence, animation, ability to avoid tearing with FSE, ability to have high resolution OSDs etc. I know from your other thread you're not keen on animations, but this would have been an issue regardless of if I decided to show any animations or not.

Its not ideal, but I was prepared to live with this limitation to get the benefits that came with using Direct3D.

OK. Thanks for the reply. It's always a compromise and you can never please everyone. It's still a dynamite app and I'm certainly not planning to abandon it. I've been able to get the new interface to run on my second monitor (a 32" Viewsonic LCD HDTV) and it seems to work fine...animations are smooth and playback seems to work as before. I'll play with it some more when I have time to dink around. I also run GB-PVR as a client on another PC that feeds a 65" Mitsubishi DLP HDTV as its only monitor and it runs just fine there. Took about 5 minutes to upgrade. Who knows? I may begin to like animated menus... Smile

Sub,
Thought this might be a related topic, so posting here. Relatively new user...

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro with Monitor on primary port and TV on secondary port. ATI configured for "Theater Mode" to show video in full screen on secondary port (clone of monitor). In this config, TV normally shows the same as computer screen (although aspect ratios don't match).

Using 99.12, perfect! There is a windowed version of video on Monitor and Full Screen video on TV.

With 1.0.8 TV continues to show clone of monitor, no "theater mode".

I've tried virtually every config combination, but none seem to change. Current config is/has been:

Video Decoder: ATI MPEG Video Decoder
Video Renderer: VMR7

BTW, Great S/W!!! Thanks for all the work!

PVRX2 needs to run on the primary display using VMR9 Custom or VMR9 Fullscreen if I remeber correctly.

i guess at the end of it all its only the people trying to make their pc do to many things and doing none of them well that this will concern
if you have a dedicated htpc then i say this is the best way to go as we get better video playback and interface

so is this more a nvidia problem or is it all cards?
if so in the future will video cards be made so they can show direct 3d on either monitor
or am i completley wrong in my understanding of why it dont work

(i normally switch from tv to projector so only have one or the other going so its not such a big deal but just curious and wondering why)

Well, lets not take this as a complete loss. I myself have come into the exact same bind.

Though, taking what RBELISLE said seems to work really well. Keep in mind I'm on an ATI setup, his idea still works.

You need to Configure GBPVR to launch in Windowed Mode first.
Drag the GBPVR window to the secondary display.
Maximize the window on the secondary display.
Press "ALT+ENTER" and this will cause GBPVR to go into full screen mode on the second display.

Maybe not the right sol'n, and I'm sure there are lost features by doing this, but it does work with the new interface.
