Sub,

It does NOT come back with "file not found" but if I try to open it over the network with notepad it says that "access is denied". How can I change access to this file? Like I said, I did the above (unshare and share), that would usually do it for me.

I'm no expert in Windows file sharing, so I'm not the best person to give advice on this, but it definitely sounds like the source of your problem.

turn off your windows firewalls(just for testing dont freak the security codes for a nuclear weapon are not on your pc and even if they were the chances are its going to take a while to find them)
share the gbpvr folder as a seperate share if you havent already
can you access other files on the same computer
also change the setting in the sharing part that says allow others to change my files

Nope,

I already had the allow others to change files. I did try to move the share to the gbpvr folder itself and I turned the firewall off. Still doesn't work. I also copied the file from my other server and that didn't work.

I tried to copy gbpvr.db3 to another PC and I get access denied. I can access/copy, move other files in this folder, just not gbpvr.db3.

hmm... I wonder if some process has the db opened exclusively. You might try shutting down GBPVR and the Recording Service on the server and trying again.

No, it's not showing read only, in fact it gets updated everyday (I assume with the TV guide update--it has the same date and time as my guide update).

Let's step back a bit...

You have one client
You have two servers - server one works - server two don't

What OS do you have on each of these machines? Can you view the monitors from both servers at the same time or are they in different locations?
