Here are the latest logs. You should see the request to play Tom & Jerry at 12:37:38

I don't know if this is the problem or not, but I noticed that in the short file name, the "&" was replaced in the filename, but not in the directory name - it stil shows "TOM&JE~1"

Thanks for looking in to this.

I did a quick test with some of my own files and can't duplicate this.

Processing HTTP request for: /stream?f=C%3a\movies\CTV&New\CTV&NE~1.MPG
streaming file: C:\movies\CTV&New\CTV & News_20070819_23300005.mpg
Reponse header:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Are you running the latest version of the firmware?

yes - I even checked this morning to make sure I had the latest firmware.

I'm trying to think what else could be different between these to particular shows & the other shows I record...

Is here any sort of log or anything on the PCH that might have some info?

You could follow the instructions in the links followed here. It would useful to see what messages are displayed by PCHServe.exe

I haven't had a chance to run PCHserver.exe for data collection because people were watching TV on one of the other sets, but I tried something out which leads me to believe it has something to do with the name of the files.

First I copied the file to my "videos" folder & played it from the Video Library and got the same result as before.

Next I changed the name of the file to Tom.mpg & it played like a champ. I'll try running pchserver.exe tomorrow. My wife is going out with her mom tomorrow, so I'll get to tinker.

I keep getting this:

PCHServe has enountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Then it gives me the option of reporting the error....

UPDATE: never mind - i found the problem.
