I'm tired. After posting my suggested changes to the Guide publicly, I saw youir message and read it dyslexically  so I deleted the public message and sent you a PM.

I think it's time to get off the computer and just start using the Popcornhour. Big Grin

First as I said I like feedback on the guide, I hope someone spends some time one day and does something on the wiki once things settle down.

The fact that you weren't using the current guide is important it is definitely a living document as I learn more about it. I see I lot of people reading it and planning too and I think it is best for everyone to wait until you get the PCH and follow the steps one-by-one, perhaps even bring the better half in to help, avoiding the male instincts on reading manuals. After all this is a hack and nothing is intuitive about it.

For the main deleted suggestion

Quote:Add to Part A, Installation, second paragraph. Add after the first sentence.

... use the mvpmc share as a base. The mvpmc is the name you give to the shared folder where you store the mvpmcx2 file and the edited sample scripts noted in step 1 below. This directory can be anywhere you want and does not have to be with any other gbpvr files. You can use any share in place...

Based on several experiences with GBPVR users who want to try mvpmc, documenting the mvpmc share is going to be difficult, I am actually making the assumption that people know how to create a Windows share in this forum and that people review the mvpmc forum if they have problems.

Just like the survival guide I actually hoped someone would have updated the mvpmc wiki on the "mvpmc share" http://mvpmc.wikispaces.com/Loadconfig I still think it would would be a good idea.

Guilty. I was too excited waiting and wanted to prepare as much as I could. I knew it wasn't going to be just a plug and play (although I was able to get the native PCH software working fairly easily) and would involve things that were new to me.

My suggestion wasn't so much about the mechanics of making a share but what directory the share should point to and what files should be in that share. I didn't know whether the share needed to include the directory with the GBPVR software or the directories with the saved program MPG files. That information seemed appropriate to your Installation and Survival Guide.

In any event, I've gotten past that and am dealing with different issues with the PCH. I still have a bit of experimenting to do before I will ask a question in the forum though. If it is what I think, I will probably end up adding a new suggestion for the Installation and Survival Guide.Big Grin
