Hi,

Well it happened again, this time when I paused live tv. I think that there may be some logging this time. In the pvrx2.exe logs there entries at the end which show the software exiting when I paused the tv.

Can anyone have a look at my logs and let me know what you think?

Thanks

I cant see anything out of the ordinary in those logs. You'd probably have to have someone look at the mdapifilter logs to get more insight.

I doubt it would be causing any problem, but I did notice one think odd in your logs. It looked like you'd setup an IR Blaster on your DVB capture sources? I cant think why you would do this.

Are you talking about the channel changer plugin? If so I set up IR Blaster because you suggested in a previous thread that it couldbe the MCE plugin that was causing my issue. I think I may have got the wrong end of the stick here.

Can you let me know what you would recommend I change this setting to?

Many thanks in advance.

Ok, I know realise the purpose of this plugin. I have changed the settign in the config to no channel changer required. The system has exited again. This time it is happening when I press back on my remote (mapped to esc) while watching live tv.

The lines in my logs that I am concerned about are the last two in PVRX2.exe.log.

2008-08-02 08:57:01.593 VERBOSE [1] Exiting...

It seems to me from this that GBPVR is intentionally shutting down rather than crashing. What do ou think?

I wouldnt have realised at the time that you were using a digitial tuner. If you had been using an analog tuner, you shouldnt have been using the built-in MCE blaster, and IR Server Suite would have been a better idea. With a digital tuner, all the tuning is done onboard, so there is no set top boxes involved, so no need for any type of IR Blaster.

As you've already found - the channel changer should be set to 'none'.

I'm sure its not being done by GB-PVR. Assuming you dont have your remote somehow triggering it, then its probably the multidec plugin you're using causing it somehow.

Try temporarily taking the multidec plugin out, and even though it wont decrypt the channel, so if the app still exits. I'm guessing it wont.

Hi Sub,

I removed mdapi and it stopped happening. I then reinstalled it and it didn't happen then either. I was still getting the occassional close when changing channels so I have rebuilt the system and will see what a fresh install does for it. No unexpected closes yet but I am still a bit wary.

I think that you are definitley correct about this being to do with mdapi rather than GBPVR so I will pursue any further errors across at dvbn.happysat.org.

Thanks for you help. I will post back any findings that are relevant to other users.

I'd also try it with mdapifilter enabled, but a different multidec plugin (if you have multiple options for your TV system).

Thanks, but it was happening with Yankse, vPlug and Emunation. The rebuild seems to be fairly stable in this issue but time will only tell.

I have had a couple of "This application has encountered..." errors since the reinstall and there is an error in PVRX2.exe.log that I cannot understand. If you get the chance can you take a look at it and let me know what is not configured correctly with the new build?

Let me know if this should be on its own thread.

Thanks

That points to it being the mdapifilter then, rather than the actual multidec plugin

Post the log and error and I'll take a look.
