I think I know why the HDHomeRun is only giving us partial TS, even when you've selected 'Full TS'.

Does any of the other utilties that came with your HDHomeRun allow you to record the full transport stream?

Alternatively, you could try changing the HDHomeRun configured application to something other than GB-PVR (which causes it to only send the channel we're watching/recording).

Are you saying to change to a different application in the HDHomerun Setup utility? There are several selections to choose from: MediaPortal, Other:ATSC/QAM, Other:ATSC/Remap etc.

Any particular one; or am I not understanding your request?

Yes.

I'm not really sure it'll help, but try setting it to MediaPortal temporarily, then try a one minute Full TS recording again. It should be bigger than your last one.

Sub,

Here is the new test file; it was bigger. But it behaved strangely. The channel that ended up being recorded in the file was one of the sub channels of the channel that I was trying to record. It showed the proper channel during live TV but recorded one of the sub channels which is just a weather radar loop. I hope it will still give you what you need.

That file has got the same problem. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with the HDHomeRun to know how to capture a full transport stream with the utilities available for it.

I found 3 streams in that second file, radar, weather news and CBS.

Were you able to open it with TS Reader? When I try here it looks like its missing all the metadata.

Not really, TSReader only reports program 606. Mono on the PCH plays all three, but the component version plays the first in the PMT 608 as designed.

I actually ran it through my parser and was able to view five channels in there.

Unfortunately the file doesnt seem to capture the condition that caused problems for fiteclub, and I can scan without seeing the problem.
