After upgrade, GB-PVR won't start

2) Compress and upload your NMTInstall.xml file which should be in the mvpmc folder

I hope I didn't give the impression that I disregarded your assistance. We had a death in the family, lots of people at the house. To keep them entertained, my solution was to delete everything, install GBPVR and make sure that it worked, ran the latest NMTInstall, unchecking GBPVR, the updates and vcredist. That worked.

I'm sorry that I can't give you the information that you requested, but thanks again for the help.

Sorry to hear the news too. I certainly never felt that you ignoring my posts.
Don't worry about NMTInstall in the future, a couple of months ago I put some version checking in and I expected to find out that a couple of users missed the announcement and ended up with a conflict.

I too was encountering a JIT error. Mine was related to being unable to run function PlayVideoFile and after a couple hours searching for "gbpvrx2.xdd215986d9a64c86" lead me to this thread.

The solution that worked for me was also uninstalling everything, removing the service via the command 'sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"', rebooting, exiting the program that auto started, deleting the GBPVR folder (really moving), and then reinstalling with the MSI.

Of course ideally the msi install would have worked out of the box, but as many have stated, the msi installer appears to be unreliable. Anyway, hopefully the addition of the the "PlayVideoFile" to this thread will result in others finding the "clean it out and reinstall" solution.

I had also uninstalled .Net 3.5 (this was on XP), but I expect that to have been unnecessary and plan to reinstall it when I need it again.

After uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling several time over I have found:

1. Everything must be deleted.
   
2. If I install GBPVR using NMTInstall.exe (fresh download), no luck. Config works, but PVRX2.exe fails to start, falling out with the same error as before.
   
3. If I wipe everything out and install only GBPVR10407.msi, success.
   

This seem to point to a problem with NMTInstall, at least on my system.
