Sorry for this Sub, I have found that Astra19.2 uses pilot and roll off 0.35. I suspect that 28.2 will be the same as I have found someone referecing 0.35 with regards to 28.2. Do you think this would make sense?

Thanks Sub, I think I get the gist of this now, I am trying 173 because 28.2 uses QPSK.

So if I am correct:

Pilot = on so = 1
Spectal = auto so = 01
roll off = 0.35 so = 01
mod sys = dvb-s2 so = 1
moulation = QPSK so = 01

Which if I am right = 173?

This feels like trying to work out molarity all over again...hehe

I'm not sure but I seem to remember DVBviewer or one of it's addons (transedit??) will give you the information you're trying to guess.

Elmo, sorry for the delay but thanks for the tip. It did save me a lot of trial and error. So for anyone looking for the S2 info on Astra 28.2 here it is:

In the 282.ini file change all the S2 references to 45.

You got me wondering - what S2 channels are you hoping to get on 28.2? I have an S2 card but not aware of anything broadcast on S2 FTV...
Is this a cam thing?

I've been hesitating asking the same question!! I'm not aware of anything unencrypted S2 on 28.2 (yet). If the BBC/ITV are finally testing an S2 tp for HD that has to be a good sign.

There are no free to air S2. Sorry Big Moose. Pob if you mean is it a cam thing in a CCcam thing then yes it is. I am not so sure how people take to this so I generally keep quiet about it. I knew I would be asked the question when I started asking for S2 settings on 28.2.
